SOCIAL ISSUE

Making healthcare services affordable and accessible for rural communities across India by leveraging technology.

PROPOSED SOLUTION

Set up 100 DigiSwasthya centres in PAN India across all aspirant districts in India impacting more than 1 crore people and make Digiswasthya people’s most trusted healthcare partner where they will get the right direction, information, and diagnosis for their issues.

CONCERNS

I am a healthcare worker and I have first hand experience in this field. Currently, we are running a telemedicine centre located in Sant Kabir Nagar of Uttar Pradesh in the health care sector using Telemedicine. Since this region is located remotely, healthcare provisions are scarce and facilities are difficult to avail. There is consequently a significant need for healthcare facilities, timely diagnosis and treatment in this region. This has been the primary purpose for choosing to locate our telemedicine centre in Sant Kabir Nagar. Our centre is equipped with a doctor and paramedical staff at the location. We also have tie-ups and a referral based system where advanced cases can receive the right information and expert opinions from various doctors associated with leading hospitals such as Tata Memorial Hospital, Hinduja Hospital, JJ Hospital. In the words of our Founder-CEO, Mr. Sandeep: Being a cancer survivor myself, I acknowledge the struggles of people who face these challenges and empathize with them. I also learned first-hand that the dearth of healthcare facilities, poor sanitation, and lack of basic hygiene prevalent in underprivileged communities are global issues that require long term intervention. I believe that primary prevention and patient education should be the utmost priority in addressing these issues.

PROJECT: DigiSwasthya

DESCRIPTION:

DigiSwasthya is a telemedicine platform that aims at bridging the gap between rural and urban India. Telemedicine is the exchange of medical information from one location to another using electronic communication, which improves patient health status. Telemedicine has multiple applications and can be used for different services, which includes wireless tools, email, two-way video, smartphones, and other methods of telecommunications technology. Beginning more than 40 years ago with hospitals extending their services to patients in remote locations, telemedicine has grown rapidly and has become an integrated part of speciality departments, hospitals, private doctor offices, home health care, and the consumer’s residence and workplace.
