Myself Ali Akbar CM chavakkad, doing my PG in societal development in Darul Huda Islamic University. As a social work student, my project work is related to the educational development of Majgama panchayat, Kishanganj, Bihar. I could visit the place, while I was selected for intership of the Prayaan foundation. I could participate in this project as project assistant with Mr. Shuhaib Pullath who is doing social studies in TISS Mumbai. Majgama Model Panchayat, a project for developing a community from Kishanganj, Bihar. As a basic project on creating a model panchayat, my team want to show others what is a model village. We chose Majgama as our model panchayat because it was our NGO Center and the people will response fast on our project. Considering the exact educational background, the survey through door to door showed us that 90% of families are educated below 7th grade. And those who are rich, sending the children to school to Degree. Moreover, every children of each families are compelled to do job in field or tea shop. While this time their names are attending in school class rooms. In the time of survey the translator gave us severe information that the teachers say : "students are not coming school" and students say:"the teachers are not teaching in school". This fact helped us to find the importance of coaching centres in Majgama. Those completed 7th class, are going to coaching centres, even they are too short in numbers. The school teachers spend an amount for all students as their names exist in register. After problems are found, we started to collect students for Majgama panchayat School. Walking through door to door, helped to councel the parents about the importance of education. And we could collect above 100+ students to the reopening school ceremony titled as "school chale hum". Now, the project is going on with the help of some natives who are working with projects of Prayaan foundation. We created an starting goal that to make 75% attendence of each students in that school in a year.
VOLUNTEERING FOR ME It is an individual's social duty. It includes the social welfare of community and help to maintain the way of livinghood. Especially, if someone don't know to improve themselves, we should guide them to achieve the dream. That may be educational guidance or cultural improvement. Volunteering should be a passion, not a give and take procedure. Everyone have a passion that should be the volunteering style like designing or project designing and etc.
VOLUNTEERING STORY According to my character the volunteering is a born gift. Even I was and an arrogant, the continuous talking and hearing gave me so patiences. The ability to hear is my inspiration. As my friend's sister thanked me for helping my friend in the time of her divorce. Thanks to God for returning her life. After this incident I started to hear my entire family and helped them to correct their misunderstandings. After enrolling to PG studies I focused volunteering in educational area in North India as it is my project for PG completion. I started focusing this project for one and half years, studying the old projects on this Hadia Moral School (as my project topic) and I collected the data myself collaborating with the Prayaan foundation ( who gave me Intership).

We created an starting goal that to make 75% attendence of each students in that school in a year. LENGTH OF SERVICE The length of project's theory is going on as I spent on it 1 year and 5 months. The length of field work was schedule 2 month. I completed 1 1/2 months. ROLE IN PROJECT Initially, my role was to collect the datas and digitalize it. As a Pioneer in this project I was surprised and finished my duty within couple of weeks and started to intract with the educational stakeholders of Majgama Panchayat. As I am a skilled language expert in Hindi and Urdu, the communication was so easy, so I could contribute something more for our team. The native language was sirjapuri, but most of the aged people could understand Hindi and Urdu. Designing the entire project was one of the important factor and creating it in good looking is also a major part. So, as an graphic designer I could design the work sheet and flex and creative posters and also a little art fest (entire designing work) including singing, speech and etc. Visiting such a place was the first milestone. Even i know the language, but I was confused that I can make them understand. Fortunately, the result made happy. However, the spending time on our project gave so many advantages like living with any kind of food and surroundings. Especially, the livinghood made a better milestone in my personal life. The ways of Spending money were too short. They don't have a good looking home, but it was enough for normal livinghood and also they were rich. Finally, I realised that they are also developed in their own cultural views. Even though, we need them to be cultured as whole India. In short, the entire credit of goes to our team, because of the team work we did cherish our first step, make them aware how the education is important to them IMPACT OF PROJECT As the mission of our project, the child labour was totally decreased and most of the children are coming school. Moreover, the monthly parents meet made a severe change in their educational views. Subsequently, the children were compelled to go school by parents. Even some of the parents wanted them back for helping the family in agriculture field. One of them severe problems were that the questing of some parents : " what will we get, if we send outlr childern". They did expected the little amount as they were been given past years by government school teachers. As their culture, in Majgama panchayat the school time is upto 1.00. but we expect to enlarge the time. If we did that we need to provide the mid-day meal to the students. And we don't have much fund for providing that. Even though we could collect fund from Kerala and Bihar for their text books and uniform. I hope in coming years this school should provide mid-day meals and must increase the periods and time to 4.00. SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

FUTURE PLANS After completing my PG I want to go Bihar and to make successful my project with our team. And the spread the model panchayat project in the Kishanganj district initially. For the further plan, it will be better if TGF family supported this project with their filed work and also heling in redesigning our project in future.
